Ultrafiltration is the RO pretreatment that uses micro-sized filters to remove most bacteria, fine particles, and sediments.
Reverse Osmosis
Reverse osmosis uses thin film membranes and removes organic material such as most viruses, pesticides, salts, and ions.
Water Operators
The advanced water treatment facility at ARC is operated by a dedicated team of water operators. When they are not performing membrane cleanings or taking routine samples, they are in the control room where they review pertinent information using SCADA screens.
The Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, or SCADA, system is an integrated control system used to operate the plant successfully and allows for the operators to monitor functionality remotely.
